Dudley Fever Sweeps the WWF

When Buh Buh Ray and D-Von first made their debut in the WWF, few could have anticipated the unprecedented success they have since achieved.

Many thought that their enormous popularity in ECW would not translate over into the big time. It was expected that like other ECW alums who made the jump to one of the Big Two, the Dudleys., after an initial push, would sink to perennial mid-card status. But Buh Buh Ray and D-Von proved all their doubters wrong. In Fact, they are now one of the most popular tag teams in the Federation.

What has gotten the two this far? In wrestling, it takes more that simply good mic and wrestling skills, both of which the Dudleys possess in excess, to truly get over with the fans. There is always a certain intangible, a certain something that ultimately separates the good from the great. In the Dudleys’ case what has put them over the top is in a word, tables.

Ever since the Dudley Boyz began power-bombing folks through table, their popularity has skyrocketed. Fans just can’t get enough of it. At every recent Dudley match, the in-ring action has been accompanied by “table” chants from the crowd. In fact the table have somewhat overshadowed the Dudleys’ tremendous in-ring talents and mic skills as well as their 3D finish. But their success and popularity have come at a high price. The Dudleys table smashing has made them a number of enemies. Soon enough, the tables may be turned and the Dudleys might just have to answer for their crimes.
